Investigator and Compliance Review Officer
The Office of the Ombudsman, Information and Privacy Commissioner, and Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner is seeking to fill the position of Investigator and Compliance Review Officer.
A key responsibility of this position will be to conduct formal investigations into allegations of unfairness made under the Ombudsman Act and disclosures of wrongdoing or complaints of reprisal under the Public Interest Disclosure of Wrongdoing Act (PIDWA). This position will also conduct formal investigations into complaints made under the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (ATIPP Act) and the Health Information Privacy and Management Act (HIPMA). The Ombudsman Act, ATIPP Act, HIPMA and PIDWA are collectively referred to as the “Acts”.
As required, this position may also be responsible for:
- providing advice to the bodies subject to the Acts;
- conducting compliance review activities to promote compliance with the Acts, such as identifying, through investigation or otherwise, areas for improvement for the bodies subject to the Acts and working with team members to develop and/or deliver resources to enhance awareness or education;
- providing back-up support to the Intake and Informal Case Resolution team by conducting informal investigations and intake as needed.
